With Mt Fuji as a backdrop, it's hard not to be impressed by the Shizuoka Stadium Ecopa.
Seating 51,000 people, the stadium will be the centrepiece of the Ogasayama Sports Park which takes its name from the nearby Ogasayama mountains.
An athletics track runs around the outside of the pitch, but 5,000 retractable seats can be rolled out onto the track when football matches are being played to allow a better view.
The stadium is brand new and was christened last August when Japan beat Australia 3-0 to win the Asia-Oceania Challenge Cup.
Shizuoka prefecture is located centrally, close to Tokyo and features spectacular natural features including lakes and coastline as well as mountains.
