Quinton Fortune

Quinton Fortune

Often left languishing in the reserves by Manchester United, South Africa will hope Quinton Fortune can shake out the rustiness in time for the World Cup.

After leaving South Africa as a schoolboy, Fortune finally ended up on the books of Tottenham Hotspur before leaving in 1995 to join Atletico Madrid.

Made his debut for South Africa after being spotted playing in Spain, and his move to Manchester United followed soon afterwards.

Quick and confident in possession, Fortune is an effective understudy at club level for Ryan Giggs but has not been able to earn a regular place in the starting line-up.
