Duncan McKimm |
 |
Duncan McKimm is a final year science journalism student at Griffith University in Brisbane. After exposure to Julius Sumner Miller at a very early age, Duncan developed an incurable interest in science - but several laboratory mishaps during high school and numerous botched home experiments indicated that scientific research probably wasn't going to be the right path for him.
Undeterred, he decided to combine his inability to stop talking and his love of science into a career, with science journalism the end result. Getting to write about other peopleís research lets Duncan get his science fix while keeping glassware across the nation safely intact.

Got a good idea?
The Lab is always looking to commission new features for publication on our site. So if you have one, let us know. Features can be on any topic, provided they are broadly related to science... new research, a different angle on an old problem, a discussion feature, or a new style of story defined by you. We value features that are easy to digest but intelligent and thought-provoking.
If you're a budding journalist and have an idea you think would make a good feature, write to us at thelab@your.abc.net.au with a few paragraphs outlining your story, ideas for accompanying illustrations or presentation techniques, and a little bit about yourself. If we like it, you write it and we'll publish it. Details of our contract and copyright arrangements are available by request.
