the Lab - Feature
Amanda Armstrong

Amanda Armstrong is a radio producer and former Executive Producer of the ABC's Radio Science Unit.

After immersing herself in research into the fast moving field of nanoscience for several weeks, she's hoping for an honorary degree in nanotech or maybe a wardrobe of nanoclothes to avoid the weekly laundry drudgery. With so many implications for how we work, make things and treat disease, 'Nature's Toybox' is one of the most fascinating programs she has ever made.

Got a good idea?

The Lab is always looking to commission new features for publication on our site. So if you have one, let us know. Features can be on any topic, provided they are broadly related to science... new research, a different angle on an old problem, a discussion feature, or a new style of story defined by you. We value features that are easy to digest but intelligent and thought-provoking.

If you're a budding journalist and have an idea you think would make a good feature, write to us at thelab@your.abc.net.au with a few paragraphs outlining your story, ideas for accompanying illustrations or presentation techniques, and a little bit about yourself. If we like it, you write it and we'll publish it. Details of our contract and copyright arrangements are available by request.
