Police are investigating claims of cyber bullying against a 17-year-old boy on the New South Wales far north coast.

Officers began investigating a group formed on a social networking website earlier this week.

It is alleged the site encouraged people to injure or kill a teenager from Tweed Heads.

Police tracked down a 16-year-old boy from Banora Point and interviewed him. He has been released pending further inquiries.

In an separate case also at Tweed Heads, a dozen teenagers armed with knives allegedly abducted and attacked a 17-year-old boy last night.

Police say up to 12 teenagers armed with knives kicked in the front door of the victim's home about 7:30pm (AEST) last night.

He was allegedly bundled into a car and taken to a nearby park, where he was beaten.

He is being treated for severe facial injuries at Tweed Heads Hospital.

No-one has been arrested over the incident.

Anyone with information about either case is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
